If you’re planning on visiting the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan this year, then YHA Boswinger makes a convenient base. A cosy mix of old farm buildings with a courtyard and veranda, it enjoys excellent sea views and is surrounded by a wide choice of beaches. On the Coast Path, walkers will find a multitude of routes and cyclists will enjoy the Cornish Trail. Lying just south of St Austell there are beaches for beginners and more experienced boardriders. It has actually played host to various national and international windsurfing events and nearby Pentewan is a top kitesurfing spot.
