Lacanau, a pleasant village and holiday resort, offers fine sandy beaches, the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, a large pine forest, and a big lake. You can practise surfing of course (World championship every year in August) and all gliding sports (body board, windsurfing, water-skiing, etc) but also golf, horse-riding, tennis and of course cycling on more than 100 kilometres of cycle tracks in the forest around. Special events take place all year long in the resort. The centre of the village is about 10 minutes walk from the campsite.
