Rick’s hostel is situated in the town of Portstewart, only 50 metres from the ocean. It has a mix of accommodation including small dormitories, private rooms for two and family rooms. Some of the rooms are ensuite. All have central heating with duvets and all bed linen provided. There is a self catering kitchen and it is planned soon to provide meals for those who require them. The spacious common room has an open fire, contains books, games, music, a video-recorder and is overflowing with plants. Portstewart itself is a relaxed seaside town with a 3½ kilometre long sandy beach. It contains lively pubs and great value restaurants. There are excellent public transport connections to Belfast, Derry and Dublin. It is an ideal base from which to explore the north coast including the Giant’s Causeway, Bushmills whiskey distillery, Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge and Dunluce Castle or for trips to the glens of Antrim or Derry.
