Taigh Mo SheanairNorth Uist

Taigh Mo Sheanair (My Grandfather’s House) is situated in the unspoilt island of North Uist, part of the Western Isles of Scotland. It is a renovated working croft where Gaelic is spoken and there is extensive knowledge of local culture, traditions and genealogy.

The house is set in an idyllic location by the sea with a sandy beach, cockle strand and safe swimming. Wildlife can be seen in abundance from the sea to the moors. It has all the usual washing and drying facilities and camping is available if the hostel is full.

North Uist is literally an untapped resource for boardriders. Exposed to all atlantic swells, this place has numerous spots with awesome wave potential. The protected streches of water on the island are also perfect for expression sessions.
