Overlooking nearby Aberporth and Cardigan Bay beyond, clear evenings will afford views of distant Lleyn Peninsula and Snowdon in North Wales. Lie in bed listening to the crackling campfire whilst watching a million pinsharp stars winking in a night sky unpolluted by street lights or neon strips. On still nights breaking waves and the boom of the swell in caves are plainly to be heard. Cooking on an open fire is easy, and suitable utensils are provided. Toilet and shower are available on site. A tipi affords shelter in all weathers and is heated by a central open fire. It is, however, not suitable for very young children. Barbecues are provided and are portable so that they can be used inside the tipis if required, but visitors are asked to provide charcoal and food. A fridge is avaliable for perishable food and drinks. Kettle, coffee and tea utensils plus an assortment of camping kitchen ware are also to hand but guests are invited to bring whatever camping comforts they normally use. Air beds are provided but visitors should bring their own sleeping bags. The tipis are floored with coconut matting to provide insulation. The site is in an enclosed, completely safe enclosure, on a working farm so that NO DOGS are allowed (they might scare the pheasants!) not to mention sheep, cattle, ponies etc.
Twenty adults can be comfortably accommodated – maximum twenty five. Three large tipis but no ordinary tents since the ground surface is unsuitable. Two indispensables – an extra towel (for a shower or dip in the sea) and a sense of adventure. Acoustic musical instruments are welcome – not so sound systems.
We’ve heard rumours about this place from a couple of reliable sources. The area around Tresaith isn’t an ideal spot for windsurfers and kitesurfers but local surfers seem to be onto something by all accounts.
