“Home from home”. Heard that before? Torquay backpackers genuinely is. People come for a few days and stay for months. You will probably meet friends for life! Torquay Backpackers is one of the few hostels which welcomes longterm overseas visitors on working holidays throughout the year. This helps to create a friendly family atmosphere. There is always plenty of local work available and the highly reasonable longterm rates make this a great base to escape the smoke and save in pleasant surroundings. Part of a Victorian terrace the hostel is centrally located in Torquay. The beach and harbour are less than 10 mins walk and the pubs, restaurants and clubs are a mere stagger away.

There are designated windsurfing and kitesurfing areas at Torre Abbey Sands in Torquay aswell as a kitesurfing and windsurfing school operating from the beach itself.
