West View in Aird Uig, Isle of Lewis, is a bed & breakfast with a difference. Not only is the location spectacular, and unconventional, so is the service provided. We aim to offer a comfortable and relaxed stay for our guests. We take pride in offering great food and hospitality.The unconventional appearance of West View is due to its construction. Built in the 1950’s by the RAF during the cold war, West View is literally bomb proof! The interior however is in contrast; warm, comfortable and welcoming. The open plan kitchen, dining and living area allows for a sociable atmosphere. Situated on the far west of Lewis on Gallan Head, over looking the Atlantic cliffs. To the East you can see Bernera, to the west the Flannan Isles (also known as the seven hunters).

Kitesurfing is one of the fastest growing extreme sports in the world. We offer instruction in kitesurfing using the latest kites and equipment. We are close to a large bay which at high tide is knee to waist deep. Perfect for improving you skills. We almost always have wind. Often cross or cross on shore. In the summer it barely gets dark so evening and night flying is possible. How about midnight flying on the summer solstice? (book travel well in advance). After a hard days flying relax with us with a good meal and recount all the spectacular moves you have (or almost have) achieved.
